Movie Maker is about synergy: the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. A crew that understands this, can push ahead to achieving the same goal. This programme helps builds trust in your fellow teammates, and also boosts the self-esteem of the individual and teaches them how to relate and communicate within a team. This programme runs for about 3-4 hours. It can be shorter but the minimum time required is 2 hours.
- 1 x experienced facilitator whose role is to create a fun and interesting environment, provide clear and concise brief and debrief and help participants discover the spirit and meaning of the programme

- Please ensure that every team has at least one member who owns an iPhone, as you will be required to use iMovie on the iPhone to compile the finished movie!
A pre-briefing room/props area suitable for the number of teams in the event and multiple other external areas like outdoors, other boardrooms, offices, common areas, meeting rooms, guest rooms. It’s a shoot it anywhere that suits your story activity.
Teams will appoint themselves a team leader and subsequently, the team leader will appoint roles to other team members.Get Out! Events will give an overall brief of how this programme works, and ask the team leaders to randomly blind-pick an MTV or an Advertisement from our list. The video clip that the leader picks becomes the movie that his/her team has to re-create using the equipment we provide. Teams think and work creatively, within a short period of time, and new ways of viewing the company or product are discovered. Strengths and hidden talents are highlighted when the finished films are shown at the end of the session. Visual thinking and planning allow participants to brainstorm together generating consensus.
Roles within a Team
- Camera Assistant
- Lighting Assistant
- Storyboard Producer
- Location Scout
Depending on the equipment selected for this programme, Get Out! Events will give an express lesson to the Cameraman and the Camera Assistant on how to operate the camera device, basic rules of exposure and framing, etc. The rest of the team will start planning the storyboard together with the Storyboard Producer, while the Location Scout goes around the programme venue to find suitable locations for shooting different scenes.
The Final Cut
The Producer has to submit to the Get Out! Events team a list of video filenames in sequence, in order for our team to compile the clips into a final video for each team. Each video requires about 30 minutes to compile, so depending on your overall programme time and the number of teams, Get Out! Events may be able to screen the final video on the same day to all participants.
